Privacy Policy

Sticker Babai ("we", "us", "our") operates the Sticker Babai Android and iOS apps and the sticker services hosted at stickerbabai.com (the "Service"). This policy describes how we collect, use, retain, disclose, and delete your data.

We use your data to provide and improve the Service. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Data we collect

Account data (when you sign in with Google)

• Your Firebase Auth uid and email address.
• A @handle you pick to attribute your published sticker packs.
• Account creation and last-updated timestamps.

Sticker packs and templates

• Sticker images (WebP) you save to cloud or publish, uploaded to our CDN.
• Pack metadata: name, publisher, tags, emojis, categories, languages.
• Per-sticker origin (e.g. from a template, gallery, WhatsApp Chats).

Usage data

• Anonymous Firebase Analytics events (screen views, pack shares).
• Anonymous Firebase Crashlytics reports when the app crashes.
• Aggregate download counts on packs; individual downloader identity is not recorded.

2. What we do NOT collect

• Your device contacts, calendar, or SMS.
• Your precise location.
• Your WhatsApp messages or media beyond the specific WhatsApp stickers you explicitly pick from the "WhatsApp Chats" tab inside the app.

3. Third-party services

• Firebase (Google) — authentication, Remote Config, Cloud Messaging, Analytics, Crashlytics. Governed by Google's privacy policy.
• KLIPY — supplies GIFs and clips when you use the KLIPY tab. Governed by KLIPY's privacy policy at klipy.com.
• Google AdMob — displays advertising to non-premium users. Governed by Google's advertising policies.
• Cloudflare — CDN in front of our servers. Sees IP + request metadata for delivery only.
• Hostgator — stores the sticker WebP files on SFTP.

4. How we use your data

• To let you create, save, and publish sticker packs.
• To restore your cloud-synced packs on a new device.
• To display attribution ("by @handle") on packs you publish to the community feed.
• To identify and fix bugs via Crashlytics.
• To send app-update notifications via Firebase Cloud Messaging.

5. Data retention

Personal data is retained while your account is active. When you delete your account:

• Your account record (uid, email, handle, profile) is permanently deleted.
• Sticker packs you published stay available to users who already installed them, but are anonymized — the publisher field is scrubbed to "[deleted]", the handle is scrubbed to "[deleted]", and the uploader uid is removed. Your identity can no longer be recovered from those records.
• The sticker WebP files themselves stay on our CDN so downstream users' WhatsApp packs keep working. They are not tied to your identity after anonymization.
• Local app data (drafts, cloud backups, image caches, preferences) on your device is deleted at the same time.

Deletion fulfillment is logged as a SHA-256 hash of the deleted uid + timestamp so we can prove fulfillment to regulators if asked, without retaining an identifier.

6. International data transfers

Sticker Babai operates from India. If you use the Service from outside India, your data (including personal data) will be transferred to and processed on our servers in India, and may transit through our third-party providers' infrastructure (e.g. Google Firebase, Cloudflare) in other jurisdictions. Data protection laws in those countries may differ from your own.

By using the Service you consent to this transfer. We use commercially reasonable safeguards (TLS in transit, access-controlled storage, Firebase Auth for identity) to protect your data regardless of jurisdiction.

7. Disclosure of data

We may disclose your personal data in good faith when necessary to:

• Comply with a legal obligation, subpoena, or lawful government request.
• Protect and defend the rights or property of Sticker Babai.
• Prevent or investigate possible wrongdoing in connection with the Service.
• Protect the personal safety of users of the Service or the public.
• Protect against legal liability.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

8. Security

We use commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data — TLS for data in transit, access-controlled storage, Firebase Auth for identity, hashed audit logs. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a breach affecting your personal data, we'll notify you as required by applicable law.

9. Links to other services

The Service may contain links to third-party sites or services (e.g. shared sticker packs that add to WhatsApp, links from templates to their source). We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content or privacy practices of those third parties. Review their own privacy policies before providing them any data.

10. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (EU GDPR, California CCPA/CPRA, India DPDP, Brazil LGPD, UK DPA):

• Right to access — email [email protected] and we'll share what we hold about you.
• Right to erasure — delete your account in-app (Profile → Delete Account) or via stickerbabai.com/delete-account. Fulfilled within 30 days.
• Right to correct — you can update your @handle in-app; email us for anything else.
• Right to portability — email us for a bundle of your account data.

11. Children's privacy

Sticker Babai is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 (the COPPA threshold in the US). In jurisdictions with a higher minor age (e.g. India's DPDP Act treats users under 18 as minors requiring parental / guardian consent), we ask that a parent or guardian oversee any use by a minor.

If you're a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal data without your consent, contact us at [email protected] and we'll delete it.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date at the top and, for material changes, surface a notice inside the app before the change takes effect. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
